I thought the Black Garlic was excellent. I could eat it raw with its sweet taste and lack of after smell. When I got my pot of it home I found it went really well with a generic tomato pasta sauce and even had it with a variety of things from salads to baked potatos.

Thanks so much for this brilliant round up of Masterchef Live. I really enjoyed reading about it, especially as I couldn't attend.

I'm SJ's friend who went with her that day. We had a fab time and I'm just posting to say that I think that olivado oil is the find of the show. I have been able to make (for the first time decently anyways) my own fresh mayonnaise. I used a mix of the lemon zest oil the straight avocado oil and a touch of rice bran oil (another show bargain at £1 a bottle) to stop it being too strong. Whisked into my lovely yellow free range eggs it made for a gorgeous yellow coloured mayo. I added seasoning and a dribble of white balsamic vinegar. It can come again.
Have been using it all over the place and I've only had it a week. My only problem. It's not going to last long!!
Thanks for a great day SJ
xx
There seems to be a lot of hype over cold pressed rapeseed oil but imo this oil knocks spots off any rapeseed oil we tasted that day and there was a few.

Thank you for the tips Jenny. I agree their Zest Avocado oil is really special. I used the extra virgin avocado to make oven chips the other night and it worked very well.

Olivado's Zest Avocado oil is divine. Try it with almost everything - pan fry your fish for a delicate flavour infused with lemon, drizzle it over salads, use as a dip for ciabatta and other breads. We use the Olivado avocado oil range whenever we used to use olive oil.

Great pics - you have really captured the flavour (excuse pun) of those cooking demos.

And delighted you want to review my book!

I forgot to pick some up. We went to that stand right before the invention test and then never made it back. I agree that is was a great show and it had a better feel than the previous Good Food shows I have been to. I wish I had tickets for the Birmingham show because in past years that has been a great deal larger with many more 'names'.
